House Rules

All I ask is that you treat the residence the exact same way you would want a guest to treat your home. :)  Please also acknowledge the following:   1. Based on past experience, we do not host groups who are 21 years of age or younger. Please do not place a reservation without pre-approval from us. Failure to do so will result in termination of your reservation and full charge of your Security Deposit.   2. Vancouver locals are not allowed to place a booking without pre-approval. This is to prevent locals from using our property as a party house.   3. Please note that we only release door codes to the person who booked the reservation.   4. All guests must be accounted for in the reservation. This means all guests entering the residence at any point in time counts as a guest. In other words, the definition of a guest is not limited to only those people planning on sleeping inside the unit, but to all guests planning to be inside the unit at any given time.   For example, if 8 people are going to "hang out" inside the unit, but only 2 people plan on sleeping over, then the guest count selected during the booking should be "8" not "2". Any extra guests not disclosed before arrival will lead to an immediate termination of the reservation.   5. No parties/events. We have close relationships with our neighbors and we respect their rights as homeowners. Therefore, we will know if parties are being held. If this rule is not followed, your reservation will be terminated and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.   6. Not for commercial use or special occasions without pre-approval. This includes: weddings, bachelor parties, birthdays, commercials, bridal showers, photo shoots, etc.   7. Please note that this is a smoke-free/drug free environment. If any smoking/drugs are detected either within the unit or in the common areas of the house we will immediately terminate the reservation and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.   8. No pets please. If any pets are brought inside the unit, the reservation will be terminated and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.   9. No excessive noise or loud music. Quiet hours start at 10:00pm. If any noise complains are reported by neighbours your reservation will be terminated and we will seek compensation for any damages that are found upon our subsequent inspection of the property.   10. Please ensure to check-out on time in order to avoid a $50 late check-out fee. We need to have the cleaners clean the unit on time for the next guest to check-in. If you require an earlier check-in or a later check-out, please request it in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you. Unless otherwise discussed, any guest who is still in the residence/property after 12pm will be charged for an extra night. This does not apply if we have approved a late check-out in advance.   11. Please let us know if you need to check-in past 10pm in advance. For check-in taking place after 10pm, and additional $50 will be charged.   12. Guests are assured that the space will be in clean and working condition. No compensation will be given for non-working items outside of our control, including but not limited to, power outages, internet outages, etc. For items inside our control, we will make every attempt to rectify any problems that may occur. It is the Guest’s responsibility to notify us immediately if there are any problems. No refunds or other compensations will be given for problems we are able to rectify within a reasonable timeframe. Guest will be responsible for costs of any repairs for problems caused by actions of Guest or due to Guest’s failure to immediately notify Host. 13. Guests take full responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or illness that occur while on the premises. By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises. Guests recognize that they may personally purchase insurance to protect themselves in such events.   14. Just to confirm that you've read over the House Rules, please state "I've read your House Rules" when making any inquiry or accomplishing any Instant Book.   Most importantly, enjoy your stay and have fun!

Guest Access

Guests have access to everything in the home excluding the left closet in the main area. That is reserved for our cleaners. The basement is occupied and the backyard is off limits to upstairs guests. A front door code will be provided to you upon arriving for your stay. Check-In 3PM Check-Out - 10AM Please be respectful of the check in and out times, we need that time to clean between each guest and ensure the house is ready for the next guest.

Myself and four other women stayed at Carlos’s home while in town celebrating a birthday. Carlos was able to accommodate an earlier check-in and a later check-out time which was greatly appreciated. We had a little bump in the road as the keypad code had not been set for our early arrival time, but one quick text to Carlos and he was able to fix the issue remotely and get us in immediately. The bedrooms in the home were spacious and both of the bathrooms were full size which is fantastic when traveling with a group of people. The location was perfect as we were close to grocery stores, transit and many dining options. Wonderful accommodation, would highly recommend!

My group of 6 had a fabulous time in Vancouver and this home was the perfect place to rest between adventures. The location is wonderful, off a quiet side street but close to busses, sky train, restaurants, and entertainment. Having two full bathrooms was a plus and the kitchen was well stocked with the dishes we needed for a few meals. The beds were comfortable and there were extra linens as well as portable heaters and air conditioners to make sure we were always comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!

Carlos was an excellent host and our stay was just what we hoped for. The house was clean and cozy and walkable to many neighborhood amenities. We had our 3 year old grandson with us and he loved watching the skytrain from his bedroom window! It was close enough to see but just the right distance to avoid any noise disturbance. The coffee/tea bar was filled with a variety options for everyone to choose from. The outdoor deck is adorable - I just wish we had time to use it. I highly recommend staying here!!

Carlos's place was exactly as described and very well met the specific needs of our family. Very accessible to Commercial Drive and walkable to many great restaurants, cafes, and bakeries. His team's responsiveness was top notch and was able to answer any questions / resolve any issues within minutes. Parking was a bit tricky at times but did not deter from our overall stay. We would definitely stay again and recommend staying at any of the properties that Carlos has available.
